Delhi man ‘abandons’ child in Goa, arrested

The Goa Police arrested a 62-year-old man from Delhi for allegedly abandoning a 20-day-old child woman in in North Goa’s Nerul.

The person, a retired worker of a public sector firm, flew down from Delhi to Goa along with his spouse, their daughter, his sister-in-law and the toddler. The household, which hails from west Delhi, owns a flat in Candolim in North Goa and was staying there.

Based on police sources, the infant was discovered deserted outdoors a home in Nerul, about 2 km from Candolim, after which the proprietor of the home knowledgeable police.

“We shaped a number of groups to comb the world and scanned by means of CCTV footage. This led us to the person, 12 hours after he had randomly picked the situation to desert the kid,” a police official stated. Police arrested the person within the early hours of July 20 from his Candolim home.

North Goa Superintendent of Police Shobhit Saksena confirmed the arrest and stated a case was registered below IPC part 317 (publicity and abandonment of kid below 12 years by guardian or individual having care of it) and part 8 (little one abuse and trafficking) of the Goa Youngsters’s Act on the Porvorim police station.

Police stated preliminary investigation suggests the kid was born out of a relationship he had outdoors of marriage.

The kid was produced earlier than the CWC in Goa, police stated.
